What does “Peer Operated” mean?
“Peer Operated” means the Hope Center is based around the idea of peer support. Peer support is an exciting way for mental health consumers to learn from each other and grow together along the path of recovery. Consumers have an opportunity to share with each other and know that they are not alone in their thoughts, feeling, or situations. All of the support groups are led by mental health consumers. Consumers, in leadership roles, decide what groups will be held and what activities and programs will take place. All consumers have input and a chance to make suggestions and give feedback.
